Hello everybody
I plan to change my D80 for a D90.
Is there any update forecast for people owning bibble lite 4.9, that would make it work with D90s ?

I've just got new D90 body, but 4.10 Lite disallows me to open NEf's from this camera, while 4.10 reported to be compatible with D300 with same sensor. Could somebody advice how can I use 4.10 with D90 NEF's ? If there will be available 4.x update or D90 mean 'buy bibble 5.0' ?

I have used Bibble 4.9 / 4.10 i the last 1½ year together with my D80.

But i have bought the D90 for one week ago. And now i have NO real RAW converter. !! Sad

Only Irfan-view and the thingy comming with the camera. Compared to the strengths of Bibble these programs cant really perform.

I am really looking forward to see my D90 photos.

Can Bibble 5 load the D90 NEF files?

Hi,

I'd also like to get a reply from the developers - I'm currently without the NEF converter as D90 files are not supported. Any news on this topic?

Best

Well,
what do you guys expect.
They said elsewhere that there will be probably no new cams before B5.
They also have a track record of supporting all mainstream DSLRs as quickly as possible.

cheers
afx

Afx, I expect the developers to be up to date with the new equipment. Especially, when it's a really easy update.

To open D90 NEF's with the current version of Bibble:

1. Open the NEF file in binary/hex editor (but Editplus will do as well)
2. Search for the "D90" string
3. Change it to "D80" and save
4. This file is now being recognized as a valid NEF by Bibble

Of course this method is a pain in the ass, but if one desperately needs to process some RAW's, it works. Hope it helps...

Thanks! I had tried that with D300 due to the sensor simularities, but didn't think to try D80.

Anyway, you can also make the change to the /usr/bin/bibblepro binary and then it works on all D90 files. Just search for the "D90" string and change it a few times. works for me, ymmv.

Have fun Wink It seems there are some differencies, as every RAW I process has a purple bar of 10pixels or so on the edge - not a big deal though.

Anyway, the good thing is I got my workflow back on the tracks. Now patiently waiting for 4.10 update or the B5.

Yea, I noticed that bar, too. I see the same thing with dcraw conversions as well.

Still looking forward to real D90 support. Wink

I searched for "D90", but didn't find anything. Can you be more specific about how to do it?

You should no modify program executable, you should modify NEF file (at offset 15f - this is first occurrence of 'd90' string )

Btw, changing 'd90' to supported 'd300' did no helps - bibble recognize image but colors are broken. It's strance - I expected D90 matrix to produce same data as D300 CMOS, not like D80 CCD.

I am surprised there are not more posts begging for D90 support already. I just wish we knew whether we will even GET it before B5.

PLEASE! With a cherry on top!

I do not want to start editing my files. I am shooting in RAW+JPEG atm, just sticking all my NEF's into a separate folder.
