Hi there Bibble Fans,
Below are links to an initial version of Bibble 5 Pro version 5.0.
There are a couple of minor issues we are still looking into, and hope to have a quick update "very soon" before our final launch of Bibble 5.0.
This is not another Preview Version, and as such your current Preview Licenses will not work. However, you'll get a 14-day trial, starting at first-run of these versions, and the final 5.0 version will be released before that time is up. At that point, you'll be able to get your full Bibble 5 license much as you got your Preview Version licenses.
(links removed. See this post for newer versions)
Changes since the last Preview Version:
| Code: | * Substantially better memory management with TIF and JPEG files
- 0001636: [RAW File support] Profile for the Canon 1D looks off
- 0001634: [RAW File support] Some Pentax PEF files use a different decoding
- 0001463: [-Other-] Linux: Bibble installs under UID500 GID500 (deb)

- Improved memory management for NEF and TIF files

- 0001328: [Selective Edits] Fixed artifact in some polygon regions
- 0001593: [RAW File support] D700 and nikon transfer
- 0001626: [-Other-] crash when selecting a 'Ref Loc' Catalog Folder that is not fully populated in the DB browser
- 0001533: [RAW File support] Support for Sony a550
- 0001554: [Printing] Continuous printing crashed on Linux
- 0001621: [Editing Tools] crop to fit gets not copied with cut and paste correctly
- 0001618: [Editing Tools] Image preview doesn't update when crop is re-done
- 0001614: [Keyword, Search, Browse] keywords in simple BW
- 0001613: [User Interface] The rename format combo is not switching to custom
- 0001610: [Printing] selection printer profiles opens bin folder
- 0001607: [Selective Edits] Selective Color Correction - colors picked with the Color Picker can cause problems
- 0001606: [-Other-] Saving default settings doesn't handle UTF characers properly
- 0001605: [Asset Management] Version names not updated when importing by move/copy causes a name collision
- 0001603: [RAW File support] Grayscale JPEGs not rendered correctly
- 0001595: [-Other-] Balloon text for default profiles in preferences wrong
- 0001623: [Asset Management] Import doesn't add metadata to browse table if some items are missing

If that isn't a joke!
Anyhow: happy to see such a beautiful piece of photo software nearing it's release ... or will the same thing happen as exactly one year ago (tried to be funny too... but doesn't workt too well, does it? )
I do send an early Happy Christmas to all the hard workers at Bibble Labs! _________________ Canon 500D |

|
|
That is great news indeed!
I have a question regarding the license upgrade from B4 to B5, though. In http://support.bibblelabs.com/webboard/viewtopic.php?t=14127 the following is stated:
| Quote: | | Folks that have a Bibble 4 Lite license will get a free upgrade to Bibble 5 Lite. |
However I have seen no mention of a Bibble 5 Lite so far. Is it coming and which features will be missing compared to the Pro version? Or does this mean that those of us who currently hold Bibble 4 Lite licenses will have to upgrade to the Pro version in order to use Bibble 5? To me personally it doesn't really make a difference as I've been planning to upgrade to Pro anyway as soon as Bibble 5 is released -- figure you folks could use some cash flow after all this and I'm willing to do my bit to help ensure the continued development of Bibble. Mainly I'm just curious about the status of the Lite version. |

Pretty happy it will finally be there !
Looks like most of the work was done under the hood. I didnt see any difference with the last preview in terms of functions. I was slightly hoping that the healing and cloning tool would make it. (have lots of pictures with sensor spots before i cleaned the sensor)

| Still missing multi-monitor support - any chance for it to make it into the final release? |

Do you include missing the black, gray and white point pickers, missing the colorimetric curve, missing the as camera curve, missing the Perfectly Clear feature, missing whole B5 Lite demo into the list of "minor issues" ?
Sorry guys, but this looks like yet another hasty Bibble Labs statement... |

That's exactly what I'm missing too. Without it's no "pro" version... |

Come on guys, they have to draw the line on features somewhere, otherwise they'll never be able to release B5. I'll be perfectly happy with the current feature set being released as 5.0 as long as all the features that are there are stable.
The release means that Bibble Labs will finally have something to sell again (which is sort of critical for the future of the company and thus also for us users), we will have something we can use with a certain level of confidence and the plugin developers will have something stable to develop against so we'll hopefully start seeing more compatible plugins. Additional features, even if they are things that we would really like to see and use, can wait until 5.1. |
